Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
