Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
