Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
