Al-Najm 3 of 3
(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
