Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
