Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
