(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
