Al-Najm 3 of 3
(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
