Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 and covered them with torment. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
