Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
