Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
