Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
