Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
