(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
