The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
The Last Day came near, and the moon split apart. 1 But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." 2 They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 (Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment, 6 with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out. 11 And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. 12 And We carried Nooh upon a ship of wooden planks and nails. 13 which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude. 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 17 The tribe of A’ad denied so how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 18 Verily We! We sent against them a raging wind on a day of calamity continuous. 19 which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 20 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 21 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed? 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
