The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided! 3 Messages deterring them from evil had come to them, 4 The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit? 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 with downcast eyes they shall come out of their graves, as if they were locusts milling about 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” 10 Then We opened the gates of heaven unto water torrential, 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, 13 Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 The 'Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination! 18 We sent a raging wind against them on a day of continuous calamity. 19 Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22
