The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails, 13 which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 17 Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 and snatched people up as though they were stumps of uprooted palmtrees. 20 for, how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 21 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 22
