The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!' 2 They deny the truth and follow their own whims, every matter has its appointed time, 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him. 9 So he prayed to his Lord: "I am helpless, deliver me." 10 So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 for, how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22
