The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Hour is drawing near, and the moon is split (in two). 1 But if they [who reject all thought of the Last Hour] were to see a sign [of its approach,] they would turn aside and say: "An ever-recurring delusion!" 2 for they are bent on giving it the lie, being always wont to follow their own desires. Yet everything reveals its truth in the end. 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 far-reaching wisdom [was held out to them]: but [since] all warnings have been of no avail, 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad, 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 The 'Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination! 18 Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune, 19 plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees. 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22
