The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon. 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 they will come forth from their graves, with their eyes downcast, [swarming about] like locusts scattered [by the wind,] 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ Before them Noah's people also gave the lie (to his Message). They rejected Our servant as a liar, saying: “He is a madman”; and he was rebuffed. 9 And so he called unto his Lord, saying, 'I am vanquished; do Thou succour me!' 10 We therefore opened the gates of heaven, with water flowing furiously. 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 running before Our eyes-a recompense for him denied. 14 And We left it as a sign. Is there anyone who will be warned? 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune, 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
