The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 And We made the earth break forth with springs; so that the water met for an affair already decreed. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! 14 We made (the story of Noah) as evidence of the Truth. However, is there anyone who would take heed? 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 We sent a raging wind against them on a day of continuous calamity. 19 which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 20 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 21 But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 22
