The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Last Hour draws near and the moon is split asunder. 1 But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." 2 They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God). 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. 5 so ignore them. On the Day when the Crier will call out about a horrible event, 6 they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied [the truth] before them. They belied Our messenger saying, "He is mad!" He was rebuffed, 9 Then he supplicated to his Lord, (saying): 'I am overcome, help me' 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. 18 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, 19 Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
