The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon. 1 Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!' 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 Tidings containing a deterrent have come to them 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 (Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment, 6 with down-cast eyes they shall go forth from their graves, as though they were scattered locusts. 7 Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 We carried him, (Noah), on a vessel built with boards fixed together with nails, 13 which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude. 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 And there belied the A'ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning! 18 We sent a raging wind against them on a day of continuous calamity. 19 which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 20 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 21 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 22

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
