The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon. 1 Yet, when they see a sign they [who deny the truth] turn their backs and say, "The same old sorcery!" 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, 4 profound in wisdom, but all warnings have been of no avail: 5 So turn thou away from them. Upon the day when the Caller shall call unto a horrible thing, 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 Then he called upon His Lord: “Verily I am vanquished; so come You to my aid.” 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 We caused the earth to burst forth with springs so that the waters could come together for a predestined purpose. 12 And We bore him upon a well-planked vessel well-caulked 13 that ran on under Our Eyes, a recompense for him because he had been disbelieved. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? 18 Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck 19 Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted. 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
