The Thamud rejected the warnings, 23 For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 And they tried to persuade him regarding his guests – We therefore blinded their eyes, “So taste My punishment, and My warnings.” 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 40
