Samood rejected the warning. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. 31 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 37 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
