Samood rejected the warning. 23 they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness. 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 (We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar. 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 How terrible was My punishment and warning. 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 they even wanted to seduce his guests -- but We blinded them, and said, "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" -- 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings. 39 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 40
