Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warnings. 30 Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. 31 We made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would take heed? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
