Samood rejected the warning. 23 they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness. 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 We are sending the she-camel to them to test them. So watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 40
