Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 “And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is.” 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Then We sent against them one Shout and they became like the trampled twigs of the (sheep) penbuilder. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn. 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 and early in the morning the punishment decreed overtook them -- 38 So taste My chastisement and My warning. 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
