Thamud denied the warning 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
