[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to all [Our] warnings; 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 They shall send the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch thou them and keep patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
