[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to all [Our] warnings; 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 (We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 and behold, We let loose upon them a tempest which rained stones upon them, except upon Lot's household whom We rescued in the last hours of the night 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 “So taste My punishment, and My warnings!” 39 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 40
