Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 (We told Salih), "Tomorrow they will know who is the most arrogant liar. 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). 28 In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination." 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 “So taste My punishment, and My warnings!” 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance.
