The tribe of Thamud also rejected Our warnings: 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" 25 They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
