The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 and behold, We let loose upon them a tempest which rained stones upon them, except upon Lot's household whom We rescued in the last hours of the night 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 40
