The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. 42 Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture? 43 Or do they say: 'We are a gathering that will be victorious' 44 Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 The evil-doers are indeed sunk in error and folly -- 47 The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar." 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? 51 All their deeds are in the Scrolls, 52 And every small and great [thing] is inscribed. 53 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and among rivers. 54 In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. 55
