The warnings came also to Pharaoh's folk. 41 They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability. 42 Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. 45 Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. 48 Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure. 49 And Our command is only a fleeting one – like the batting of an eyelid. 50 And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 51 [They were truly guilty] because all [the evil] that they ever did had been [revealed to them as such] in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom; 52 And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Quran V. 57:22). 53 Indeed, the cautious shall live amid gardens and a river, 54 Seated in an assembly of the Truth, in the presence of Allah, the Omnipotent King. 55
