And indeed the Noble Messengers came to the people of Firaun. 41 They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. 42 Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? 44 The army will be routed and put to flight. 45 Nay; the Hour of Doom is their appointed time, and the Hour shall be more calamitous and bitter. 46 Lo! the guilty are in error and madness. 47 On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching. 48 Surely We have created everything in measure. 49 Our command consists of only one Word which is carried out in the twinkling of an eye. 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds). 52 All things small or great have been written down. 53 Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, 54 in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King. 55
