Now surely, unto Pharaoh's folk [too] came such warnings; 41 They, too, rejected all Our signs. So We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 Anon will their multitude be vanquished, and they will turn the back. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 on the Day when they are dragged into the fire on their faces, it will be said to them, "Now feel the touch of Hell!" 48 Verily everything! We have created it by a measure. 49 It takes only a single command from Us (to bring the Day of Judgment) and that can be achieved within the twinkling of an eye. 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 All things they do are (recorded) in the books; 52 and everything [that man does,] be it small or great, is recorded [with God]. 53 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light, 54 In a good seat, near a Sovereign Omnipotent. 55
