The warnings also came to Pharaoh's people, 41 They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 on the Day when they are dragged into the fire on their faces, it will be said to them, "Now feel the touch of Hell!" 48 Verily everything! We have created it by a measure. 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth? 51 And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds). 52 And everything, small and great, hath been written down. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King. 55
