And assuredly unto the household of Fir'awn came the warning. 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: “We are a strong legion, strong enough for victory?” 44 The army will be routed and put to flight. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 Surely the sinners are misguided and insane. 47 On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell. 48 Indeed, all things We created with predestination. 49 and Our ordaining [a thing and its coming into being] is but one [act,] like the twinkling of an eye. 50 And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? 51 All their deeds are recorded in the Scrolls; 52 And every small and great [thing] is inscribed. 53 Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, 54 At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful. 55
