Warnings also came to the Pharaonites, 41 Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. 42 Are your disbelievers better than they were, or have you been given exemption in the Books? 43 Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?" 44 The army will be routed and put to flight. 45 Rather, the Hour is their encounter. And that Hour will be most calamitous and bitter. 46 Indeed the wrongdoers are in error and a raging fire. 47 The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" 48 We have created everything in due measure; 49 And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 Whatever they have done has been recorded in the Books (records of the deeds). 52 everything large or small, is duly inscribed. 53 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers, 54 In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour). 55

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
