The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 has created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
