The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
