The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
