The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
