The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
