The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
