The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
